Live from Fishes Eddy in NYC …HellOOOOO Friday!
It’s been a long week and we’re looking forward to a fantastic summer weekend and time to hang with “the fam”, entertain friends, kick back with some barbecue and beer or perhaps hittin’ it in our heels out on the town. You all know we’re east coast and west coast girls and we love all our readers in between. Wherever you live we want you to live a little on the weekends.
Five on Friday started as a quick way for the editors of the KDN to share the “week in review” a quick look book of favorite things we found during our design week.
This week we visited Fishes Eddy, a NYC hipsters housewares institution in New York, NY. Fishes Eddy is favorite hotspot for colorful kitchen ware, vintage knockoffs, glasses in every color of the rainbow, politically incorrect kitsch, hotel china and seasonal tabletop. It’s an emporium that you can always find fun things and it’s different no matter when you visit.
Many of you grew up watching the Lucille Ball Show which is a nostalgic favorite of mine. When I’m in Fishes Eddy it reminds me of a place that Lucy and Ethel might have had a little adventure and some colorful high jinx. We certainly did.
I also love their little bargain room especially when I’m hosting a last minute party and I want to create an affordable fun tabletop. Your guests will always get a kick out of the novelty of what you might find. And if you can’t wait to visit the store you can have an armchair novelty shopping trip at Fishes Eddy online. They even have a menu item Tchotchkes, you gotta love it.

.
The KDN design team is all over the country all year long and as always on the hunt for our SKOUT & Source segments. Is there something particular you’re looking for? Do you collect vintage? Are you newly married and need help setting up your kitchen and building a stash of just the right things for everyday and entertaining? Email us and I’m sure we can help.
Fill your weekend with family, food, fun and friends
Happy Weekend!
